I often have people ask me how the rising cost of health care has effected employers…in other words, are businesses dropping their group coverage because of the cost. There has been much anecdotal information that would indicate that this is happening. However, a study performed by the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Center on Wisconsin Strategy confirms the findings. It shows that yes, 9% fewer employers are offering group health policies when compared to a similar study performed in 2000.
